1971 Volvo 144S Sport in Brisbane, QLD. Reluctant Sale due to ownership of six classic cars with too much road tax / car registration costs. This is a four-speed manual but with the option of a five-speed manual available either before or after sale. The motor is a twin carburettor stromberg with spare SU being equivalent to the 2-litre P1800 Volvo running gear, all in very good condition. The car itself has recently had a new water pump installed, and new brake hoses and brake callipers. The car is a good Swedish design requiring minimal maintenance in which the technology is not beyond the home-hobbyist. It’s a classic car that will in time increase in value by virtue of its age and unique qualities. I’m only selling because of lack of storage space and very high state government road tax ( car registration ). The car body has a zinc type under-coat offering longevity but could use a re-spray and some panel work under a boot corner where the spare wheel is stored. Also a new muffler would be required for RWC. Considering the up-dated water pump, front brakes, large battery, etc; and 4-cylinder registration, the car is a bargain investment. The Volvo 144S is designed will durable integrity and the car will run well for decades to come. Spare parts including some panels, lights, etc, are available with this car.
